Women of the Word

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, in that He counted me trustworthy, putting me into the ministry.
I Timothy 1:12

Women of the Word (WOW) is an outreach ministry for women of all ages who have a desire to learn and apply the truths of God’s Word. We come together monthly to subject ourselves to the teaching of God’s Word and to the ministry of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of becoming better representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jane Withers (August 14, 1949 – September 17, 2017)

Jane Withers was the founder of “Women of the Word,” a ministry that focused on the spiritual well-being of women. It gave Jane great joy to teach the Word of God and to minister by the Spirit to the precious women who wanted to grow in their relationship with Jesus and to have a positive impact in their areas of influence.

Jane was committed to teaching and ministering to women of all ages and backgrounds. She was a public educator, having served as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, and principal. She had a Master Degree in Education Administration and a Doctorate Degree in Theology. She faithfully served as Director of STC Bible College. Jane will be missed but not forgotten.

God’s Design for Woman is a God-inspired book written by author and teacher, Jane S. Withers. This book exemplifies Jane’s heart for God’s Word. You may listen to the complete book here on our website. Click here to proceed to the audio book.

We are very appreciative to Joy Stamey for continuing the ministry of Women of the Word for a season. Joy faithfully taught Jane’s book, God’s Design for Woman. After Joy fulfilled her course, Women of the Word took a sabbatical. We have resumed under the leadership of Heather Sykes and continue to meet the second Friday of each month. We are excited about this new season the Lord has for us.

Time: Women of the Word meet on the second Friday of each month at 7pm, excluding December.
Location: 104 W. Colonial Drive, Thomasville, NC
